Ambergate is situated where the River Amber joins the River Derwent in the Peak District, Derbyshire.
Ambergate is one of the main gateways to the Peak District for travellers going north on the A6. The railway, road and canal are all sandwiched into the tight river valley at Ambergate and the railway station was one of the few triangular stations in Britain.
