Matlock Bath Grand PavilionMatlock Bath Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath’s Grand Pavilion is an impressive building, once the hub of theatre and entertainment in the area. In recent years the building has been used as a nightclub, which closed in 2008. Since then the structure has had neither the funding for necessary maintenance, nor the support to re-open what was once a renowned and unique facility for the area. In 2010 a campaign started to “Save the Pavilion”, which has matured into the Charity “The Grand Pavilion Ltd”. They now control the building by having a lease on the Grand Pavilion and an option to buy it. Their overall vision is for the Grand Pavilion to be used as a multi-purpose centre for arts, entertainment, and local History/Heritage. This would be available to the local residents and the wider community, and utilised by different organisations and groups to maximise use. Thanks to their efforts, and their growing number of supporters, the Pavilion has re-opened for a limited number of events, e.g. the recent fund raising art exhibition.
